Reinforcement is the core element used to create positive behavior change. To obtain desired behavior changes, an understanding of how to create a “reinforcing environment” is crucial. Often the first step in creating a reinforcing environment is pairing oneself with reinforcement in order to establish yourself as a conditioned reinforcer. Other necessary components for maintaining a reinforcing environment include assessing various forms of reinforcement (reinforcement assessment) and understanding how often to deliver reinforcement (schedules of reinforcement).
This training will focus on the core concepts of reinforcement which all fit together to create a reinforcing environment. Concepts such as; reinforcement, pairing, non-contingent reinforcement, various reinforcement assessment, schedules of reinforcement, and understanding how to maximize the power and effectiveness of reinforcement will be reviewed.
